blue_calendar_2011To make an appointment please telephone the surgery during opening hours.Appointments are for one person only and are booked at 10 minute intervals. If you feel that you need a longer appointment please say at the time of booking. You may be offered an appointment with a Primary Care Practitioner who are specially trained to deal with minor illnesses.

The surgery offers different types of appointments:

  • Routine appointments - that can be booked up to 5 weeks ahead usually with a doctor of your choice.
  • Week In Advance appointments - these appointments are available for booking 5 days ahead. We cannot always guarantee the doctor of your choice.
  • One Day appointments - these are appointments available for the same day. These are released at 8.00am every morning. We cannot always guarantee the doctor of your choice.

Routine appointments are normally 10 minutes long and in common with other practices we may not have time to safely deal with all your problems in a single appointment. We have to ask our patients to prioritise their problems and we will deal with the most medically important first. More minor problems may need to be left until another day in order to safely manage the most important issues and prevent delays to other patients.

We will see additional cases on the day when there is an urgent medical need, but may decline to see cases that day if there is no immediate medical need. We no longer run a sit & wait clinic in the evening as this was being abused for non urgent cases.
