If you are on regular medication your doctor may issue you with a computer generated repeat prescription slip which allows you to obtain prescriptions without seeing your doctor. When you require more medication tick the items required on the slip and return it to the Health Centre. Please allow 48 hours (2 working days) for your prescription to be processed. If you have requested your prescription to be collected by a pharmacy please allow additional 24 hours.
All our prescribing is monitored by the PCT who promote responsible use of the drug budget. they aim to advise all doctors on up to date, efficient and economical medicines. Occasionally a particular medication will be changed for all patients, island wide, to another very similar one or to one with a different brand name. This rarely causes any problems but please let your doctor know if a change is made to your medication which does not suit you.
Please remember to order your repeat prescription at least a week before your medication runs out, allowing extra time to cover the surgery being closed at weekends and bank holidays.
We do not accept telephoned prescription requests.

EPS - Electronic Prescription Service
A new NHS service has recently been introduced on the Isle of Wight. You can choose a Pharmacy for your GP to send your repeat prescription electronically to. (This is called nomination)
If you have a stable condition and you don't want to visit the Health Centre every time to collect your prescription, then this service may be for you.
To enable us to send your prescription electronically you need to speak to your pharmacy for more information and to set up your nomination.
