Seven-day Access to GP Services
From Saturday 30th September 2017 seven day access to a range of GP surgery appointments for Island residents will be available. For further information, click here
Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available.
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or Nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or a the weekends (on a Saturday or Sunday). Appointments will either take please at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.
By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at www.england.nhs.uk/gpaccess

Urgent Care Service for the Island
Beacon Health Centre to become part of the Urgent Care Service for the Island
With effect from 1st October the Beacon Health Centre will now become part of the UCS (Urgent Care Service). It is for those who have been advised by a health professional – doctor, dentist, optician, or pharmacist - or the NHS 111 service - to visit the UCS.

Telephone advice e.g. 111, Parentline, Isle Help, Action on Hearing Loss, Healthwatch IW, People Matter Travelline, Alcoholics Anonymous, British Red Cross, Age UK, Carers IW, Disablement Information and Advice Line (DIAL), Cruse Bereavement care, Dental Advice, Frank, The Silver Line, etc. (and see mental health below).
Pharmacy – there are about 30 across the Island open for longer than GP practices; a minimum of 8 open each day at weekends. Under the Pharmacy First scheme you don’t need to get a prescription from your GP for some conditions.
GP practices – there are 18 across the Island where both GPs, nurses and other health professionals provide services
Dentists and the emergency dental service – for problems with teeth
Opticians – for problems with eyes
Mental Health - mental health crisis line, IAPT (Improving access to Psychological Therapies), Silver Cloud, Positive Mental Health, Big White Wall
MENINGITIS ACWY VACCINATIONS:
This vaccine is available now for young adults with the following dates of birth:
01/04/1991 - 31/08/1998 or 01/04/2000 - 01/04/2002
Even if your son/daughter has already had a Meningitis C vaccination they need this vaccination to cover against the four different types (A,C,W and Y). For the age groups above please contact reception to book an appointment as soon as possible.
